Guide
Approach and anchoring
Approach from the west in settled weather. Strong tidal streams run in the Iroise channels; plan the passage on slack water. Open to N and NW winds and to the Atlantic swell. Avoid weed patches when setting the anchor for reliable holding.
Practical
Forain anchorage, no services. Nearest refuges are Au Petit Sud de l'Île Molène 12.2 NM E and L'Aber-Ildut 13 NM E for water and provisioning.
Ashore
The Iroise sea was designated France's first marine natural park in 2007, with resident grey seal and bottlenose dolphin colonies around the Molène archipelago and Ouessant.
