Talange
- Type
- Harbour
River port on the Moselle at Talange, 60 berths, between Metz and Thionville in the Moselle department.
Guide
Approach and anchoring
Access via the canalised Moselle, part of the large gauge waterway linking France to the Rhine. No tide. Lock operation by VNF. Commercial barge traffic shares the river, keep to starboard on the approach. The basin sits on a quiet canal off the main river with about 2 m of water. There are no mooring rings or bollards, so crews carry their own lines, though there is plenty to tie to.
Practical
Sixty berths in the basin. Large supermarkets and factory outlet stores lie within reach for provisioning. Port de plaisance de Metz lies 6.9 NM south, a larger facility for reprovisioning or wintering.
Ashore
Talange town centre within walking distance from the port for shops and basic supplies. Metz old town 20 km south by road, with the Gothic cathedral Saint-Étienne and Centre Pompidou-Metz as cultural anchors.
