Approach and anchoring

Reached via the Moselle waterway, PK 287 area, from the main navigation channel. Gauge Freycinet plus, locks operated by VNF on the Moselle à grand gabarit between Frouard and the German border. The inner basin and concrete quay are shallow, around 1 metre in places, so boats drawing 1.6 metres may struggle to find a berth. Deeper water of about 2 metres lies along the outer quays, where the harbour master will point out a spot on the west side of the basin.

Practical

New basin opened in 2024 with around 50 long-term berths plus visitor quays fitted with water and electricity. Showers and toilets sit in a container beside the capitainerie, opened by a chip from the manager. The harbour master speaks English. Berthing runs around 18 euros a night, or 480 euros a month for a 13 metre boat. E-bikes can be hired on site but are not always in service. Fuel not on site, nearest road station in Talange town.

Ashore

Talange town centre about 700 m east of the basin with bakery, supermarket and rail station on the Metz to Luxembourg line. Factory outlet shops and a large amusement park lie close by. Riverside towpath usable by foot and bicycle along the Moselle. Metz old town reachable by train in roughly 15 minutes.
