Approach and anchoring

Approach from the south across the gulf, no hazards on the direct route from Saint-Tropez. Keep clear of the marked swimming areas in summer. The bottom is well-packed sand broken by posidonia, so drop on a clear patch where holding is good, and anchoring off the point's seawall keeps boats clear of the rocky shore. Wash from shuttle ferries and motorboats sets up a persistent roll, often through the night. Exposed to southerly and south-easterly winds and best in west or north winds; shift to Port de Sainte-Maxime or Saint-Tropez when a southern swell gets up.

Practical

No services at the anchorage. Port de Sainte-Maxime lies 0.6 nm NE with water, fuel and visitor berths, and its office takes visitors' tenders. All shops, restaurants and a supermarket are along the Promenade Aymeric Simon-Loriere, within 300 m of the beach landing.

Ashore

Landing by tender on the sandy beach in front of the town. Tuesday and Thursday market on place du Marché at 400 m. Tour Carrée museum of local traditions at 350 m. Coastal path toward la Nartelle beach east of town, about 2 km along the shore.
