Approach and anchoring
Approach by day from the centre of the gulf. Sheltered from N, NW, W and SW; fully open to E and SE swell from the Ligurian Sea. Good holding on sand in around 5 metres, avoid Posidonia seagrass patches which are protected and prohibited for anchoring under Prefectoral decree.
Practical
No services on the anchorage itself, which sits in a busy part of the gulf where traffic noise from the coast road carries out depending on the wind. Port de Sainte-Maxime lies 1.1 NM NE with full marina services, Saint-Tropez 1.5 NM SE for fuel, water and provisioning.
Ashore
Tender ashore to Sainte-Maxime for the Saturday morning market on place du Marché, 400 m from the harbour. Coastal path from Saint-Tropez to plage des Salins, around 4 km. Musée de l'Annonciade on the Saint-Tropez quay, first French post-impressionist museum, holds works by Signac, Matisse and Bonnard.
