Approach and anchoring

Entrance from the south, between two rubble-mound breakwaters. About 130 berths, maximum draught 3.5 m in the main basin. Approach clear of offshore dangers, but watch for the rocks known as Les Sardinaux a mile to the southwest. Exposed to the east; mistral strong but offshore. VHF 9.

Practical

Most berths are owned by residents of the private domain. Visitor berths are limited and should be booked by phone, and the harbour master is usually on hand to help with berthing. Sanitary facilities are kept clean. Water and electricity on the pontoons. Fuel at Port de Saint-Aygulf 2 NM north or at Les Issambres 1.8 NM southwest. Small shops and restaurants in the domain, larger village centre of La Gaillarde 800 m inland.

Ashore

Pebble and sand cove of La Gaillarde directly east of the port. Massif de l'Esterel red porphyry coast begins 3 km to the east, with the Corniche d'Or road and GR 51 coastal trail. Saint-Aygulf beaches 2 km north, Issambres coves 2 km south.

History

The marina was built in the 1960s as part of the Domaine de Port Ferreol real-estate development, one of several such Cote d'Azur schemes contemporary with Port Grimaud slightly further west.
