Approach and anchoring

Approach from seaward and drop anchor on sand in 3 to 6 metres, clear of the swimming zone marked by yellow buoys in season. Watch for a submerged mooring block in the middle of the small bay. Shelter is limited to the eastern sector, with full exposure to the westerlies. The wash of traffic in and out of the Golfe de Saint-Tropez sets the anchorage rolling at busy times. Land on the beach by dinghy and use the buoy nearest the shore.

Practical

Forain anchorage with no facilities. Port de San Peïre Les Issambres lies 0.1 nautical miles to the south-west with water, diesel and chandlery, and the office will take boats in ahead of strong winds. A SPAR supermarket sits just outside the port, well stocked but pricey, and there is no launderette. Port Ferréol, 1.7 nautical miles to the north-east, is the alternative shelter in westerly weather.

Ashore

Sentier du littoral runs along the Issambres coast past the remains of a Roman fish-farming tank known as San Peïre, visible on the shoreline rocks. Shops and restaurants of San Peïre village at the head of the marina, 200 metres from the shore. An ice cream parlour stands at the foot of the harbour office.
