Approach and anchoring

Open approach from the SE. Sand and Posidonia bottom, dense here, so drop on the sand patches to avoid ploughing the seagrass; sand and room are both limited. Anchoring is supervised and permitted on only one side of the channel, with mooring buoys laid just short of Les Issambres harbour. Open to the SE sector and to the easterly swell, where protection is limited; shelter from N, NE, E and NW. A water supply is listed on the mooring.

Practical

No port services on the spot. Port de San Peïre Les Issambres lies 0.3 NM W, with a supermarket, shops and a market beside it, and Port Ferréol 1.6 NM NE for fuel, provisioning and repairs.

Ashore

Les Issambres beach is a short dinghy pull to the W. The Roman fish tank known as the Vivier des Issambres, cut into the coastal rock in the 1st century, stands on the shore between the anchorage and San Peïre.
