Small drying harbour on the western side of the bay of Pléneuf-Val-André in the Côtes-d'Armor, Brittany.
Guide
Approach and anchoring
Approach from the bay of Saint-Brieuc, giving the Verdelet islet bird reserve a wide berth. Drying berths suit bilge-keelers or boats able to take the ground, and entry is limited to around high water. It is awkward for boats over 8 metres, which need a reliable engine and good handling to weave between the mooring buoys and lie close in to the stone quay. Rig fenders the full length of the hull, and come in slowly for the many bathers, fishermen and sailing school in the approach.
Practical
Very few visitor berths, only three listed. Most traffic uses nearby Dahouët, 1.3 NM south, for afloat berthing and services. Water point and public toilets by the quay. No fuel on site.
Ashore
Beach of Val-André running north from the port along about 2.5 km of sand. GR 34 coastal path climbs over the Pointe de Pléneuf towards Erquy, 3.8 NM to the north-east. Shops and restaurants of Val-André seafront within 400 m.
