Approach and anchoring

Sand bottom. Sheltered from N through E to SW, open to the north-west and west sectors, though the aber stays calm even in fresh northerlies. Entry to the Aber-Benoît is narrow and buoyed, with rocks on either side of the approach, enter on the flood with enough rise of tide and follow the lateral marks. Strong tidal streams inside the aber. Pick up a visitor buoy off the beach or in front of the harbour office, or carry on up towards the boatyard where there is more water for a larger boat. Saint-Pabu village landing 0.5 NM east.

Practical

Visitor buoys are managed by the harbour office at around 18 euros a night for an 11 metre boat, plus a tourist tax of 0.22 euro per person. No fuel or shower at the moorings themselves.

Ashore

An oyster farm across the water sells oysters directly. Saint-Pabu village 0.5 NM east, with bakery and small grocery. Dunes of Corn ar Gazel south of the aber mouth, classified site managed by the Conservatoire du Littoral. Coastal path GR 34 runs along the aber and the dunes toward L'Aber-Wrac'h 5 km north.
