Guide
Approach and anchoring
Entrance from the NW between Petit Pot de Beurre and the buoys of Le Libenter, best taken two hours either side of high water, then a marked channel up to Saint-Pabu. Strong tidal streams on ebb and flood. Fully enclosed and sheltered on all points once inside, mud bottom. Anchoring room is tight between the moorings and deep-draught boats struggle even on neaps, so the buoys or the very head of the aber are surer. VHF 9 for the harbour master.
Practical
Buoys are laid by the community of Saint-Pabu at a modest fee, with quality sanitary facilities and fresh water at the slipway. Chantier des Abers at 0.3 NM NW handles lift-out, repairs and winter storage. Saint-Pabu village and its bakery at 0.6 NM NW of the moorings. Shore services are otherwise thin; for more provisioning, Paluden in the Aber Wrac'h is cheaper and closer to shops.
Ashore
Oyster farms line both shores of the aber and sell directly from the cabins at low water. GR 34 coastal path crosses the river on the road bridge and continues towards the Aber Wrac'h. Dunes of Sainte-Marguerite and Corn ar Gazel beach at 2 km from Saint-Pabu across the peninsula.
