Guide
Approach and anchoring
Approach from the open sea with a clear view of the beach; no offshore dangers reported in the immediate approach. Anchor in 6 to 10 m on sand, but the bay is open to the west and rolls even in light airs, so treat it as a fair-weather stop only. Port de Sagone lies 2 nm NW and Cargèse 5.8 nm NW for shelter when the libeccio sets in from the SW.
Practical
Sand provides good holding. Anchor outside the swimming zone marked by yellow buoys in season. No services on the beach itself; Sagone has a small marina with water and a fuel berth.
Ashore
Sand beach reached directly by dinghy, with a beach restaurant and grill on the shore. Part of the beach is used by naturists. Village of Sagone 2 km away by the coast road for food shops and restaurants. Archaeological site of the Sant'Appianu cathedral 1.5 km north of Sagone, remains of a 12th-century building that was the seat of the Sagone bishopric until 1572.
