Approach and anchoring

Approach from the W off the Baie de Quiberon is not possible, the peninsula is a lee shore. Arrive from the S around the Pointe du Conguel or from the N along the Côte Sauvage, in settled weather only. Sand with very good holding, anchor 150 to 300 m off the beach, 3 to 5 m close in and deepening to around 12 m some 300 m out at high water. Fully exposed to the W and SW swell, use only in stable easterly winds.

Practical

No facilities on the beach. Port-Haliguen and Port Maria at Quiberon, both about 3 nm to the SE on the sheltered east coast of the peninsula, for fuel, water and shops. Village of Saint-Pierre-Quiberon at 1 km from the beach with shops and bakery.

Ashore

Sentier des douaniers GR 34 along the Côte Sauvage, 8 km of granite cliffs between Pointe du Percho and Port Blanc. Alignements mégalithiques de Saint-Pierre-Quiberon, 22 menhirs in three rows, at 800 m from the beach. Pointe du Percho and Port Bara natural arches at 2 km NW on the coastal path.
