Guide
Approach and anchoring
Straightforward approach from the west. Sand bottom, anchor in 4 to 8 metres clear of the swimming zone marked by yellow buoys in summer. A submarine cable runs from the white buildings straight out into the bay, so anchor nearer one of the headlands to keep clear. Shelter from N, NE and E. Fully exposed to the W and SW, where a swell sets in and the anchorage rolls.
Practical
No facilities afloat. Beach huts serve food in season, and Cargèse harbour 0.9 NM south has water, a bakery and a mini-market, a 20 minute walk or a short dinghy hop. In summer a beach club can play loud music into the early hours, so check for events before staying the night. Port de Sagone 4.8 NM to the south-east.
Ashore
Plage de Péru, around 600 m of sand and pebbles. Footpath over the headland to Anse de Chiuni to the north. Cargèse town centre at about 20 minutes walk via the coast road.
