Approach and anchoring

Approach from the west in clear water. Holding is poor on algae; look for clear sand patches in 10 to 11 metres, where there is room for only about three boats, and dive the anchor to avoid dragging. Shelter is mostly theoretical: the cove gives some cover from the south, but a residual westerly swell often works in and it is only tenable by settled weather or offshore breeze.

Practical

No services. Cargèse to the SE has a small harbour with water and limited berths, and the village shops are a few minutes from the quay. Port de Sagone lies 5.7 nm SE.

Ashore

Posidonia meadows here are part of the Natura 2000 site FR9400594 covering the gulfs of Sagone and Chiuni. Cargèse, 1.8 nm SE, is known for its two facing churches, Greek Catholic and Latin Catholic, built in the 19th century for the descendants of the Greek colony from Vitylo settled in 1676.
