Peillac
- Type
- Harbour
River port on the Oust, part of the Nantes to Brest canal in inland Morbihan, Brittany.
Guide
Approach and anchoring
Reached by the Nantes to Brest canal from Redon to the south or from Josselin to the north-west. Lock operation managed by the Région Bretagne, generally from mid-March to early November. Air draught limited by fixed bridges on the canal, check the navigation guide before planning a passage.
Practical
Pontoon berths along the quay, water and electricity available. Free first night in season under the Halte Nautique scheme. A busy road runs close to the quay, so the berths can be noisy. Bakery, small grocery and cafe within 300 m in the village centre.
Ashore
Towpath follows the Oust in both directions, open to walkers and cyclists as part of the V2 Vélodyssée branch. Île aux Pies nature site, red schist cliffs and climbing routes on the Oust, 5 km downstream near Saint-Vincent-sur-Oust. Chapel of Saint-Léon, 15th century, 2 km west of the port.
