Anchorage off Marinella beach on the Costa Smeralda, north-east Sardinia. Sand bottom, fresh water ashore, open only to the north and north-west.

Approach and anchoring

Anchor in 2.5 to 5 m on sand with some mud and posidonia. Holding is good. A rock 1 m below the surface lies in the middle, marked by a small red buoy. Another rock at about 2.5 m can catch a chain. A 2 m shoal lies in the NE corner, and wrecks and old tyres were found on the bottom in 2022. The anchorage lies close to the marina channel. Small boats pass morning and evening, and nights are calm.

Practical

The pontoons to starboard on entering belong to a gated holiday complex. Land the dinghy at the end of the bay or at the yacht club's small jetty. The yacht club restaurant takes bookings and stayed open until late September 2025. A supermarket is close by. No fuel was available in 2024.

Ashore

A path along the water passes Cala Sabina on the way to Punta della Canigione. Snorkelling is possible along the rocks, and a short paddle leads behind the pontoons.
