Bay anchorage off the town of Golfo Aranci, north-east of Olbia on the north coast of Sardinia. Sand bottom, sheltered on all sides except the south. Car ferry terminal with links to the Italian mainland.

Approach and anchoring

Anchor on sand in 5 to 8 m, avoiding the obvious weed patches. In season a paid buoy field fills much of the bay, marked by four large yellow corner buoys. A 2023 Guardia Costiera ordinance keeps anchored boats 100 m from the line joining them. Staff move boats that are too close. The buoys were absent in October 2025 and March 2026. West of the cove, a prohibited zone holds sunken sculptures and an unmarked reef 0.4 m deep.

Practical

A buoy cost 80 euros off season and 200 euros in August in 2026. Dinghies can be left free at the dock or the wooden ramp. Market Fasolino is a small supermarket, and there are two laundries, one self-service. A farmers' market runs on Monday mornings behind the beach. Rubbish bins are few. The train to Olbia cost 2.5 euros in 2025.

Ashore

A 12 km hike with 350 m of climb leads to Cala Moresca beach. In April 2026 a bronze mermaid statue rose from the water at 11.30 am and 7 pm to Sardinian music. La Lanterna pizzeria is a 5 minute walk from the beach. Restaurants include Lo Scorfano Allegro.
