Mooring-buoy field on the west side of the Le Marin bay, 0.45 miles south-west of the marina and next to the Carenantilles yard. Sand and mud, sheltered from every sector except the south and south-east.

Approach and anchoring
Make for the Morne de la Pointe Borgnesse, pick up buoy MA2, then follow the marked channel on 073 degrees towards Pointe Marin. After MA4, steer 050 degrees for Pointe Cailloux, pass the Banc Major light and turn north, leaving Banc du Milieu and MA7 to port. Martinique uses IALA B: red marks to starboard when entering. The field is part of the mooring zone of the Baie du Marin, run by the Société Antillaise d'Exploitation des Ports de Plaisance: white buoys, 2-knot speed limit inside the zone.
Practical
Paying buoys; Navily lists 40 of them for boats up to 20 m. Under the police rules of 9 April 2021, anchoring is banned inside the zone, rafting up is forbidden, fishing and scrubbing hulls are prohibited, and since 1 June 2023 boats with heads must have a working holding tank. The zone takes boats up to 30 m and 50 tonnes; the mooring agents issue a contract on arrival and the fee is paid in advance.

Marina du Marin, with fuel, shops and the harbour office, and the Carenantilles yard are a short dinghy ride away.
