Cove off La Colba beach beside Capo Testa, near Santa Teresa Gallura in northern Sardinia. Sand, rock and posidonia bottom. It lies in the Capo Testa Punta Falcone marine protected area, where anchoring needs online registration and a fee.

Approach and anchoring

Approach from the east and north with care, as rocks stand a few centimetres above the water. Inside, sand patches lie among posidonia and rock, with stone blocks in some sandy areas. Anchor only on sand in the designated zone. Dozens of new mooring buoys were laid by September 2025. The bay is sheltered from easterly winds and from northerly waves. In September 2024 the coastguard asked boats about 350 m off the beach to move further out.

Practical

Register online with the marine protected area, in its anchoring section. It asks for contact details, a tax number, and identity and flag documents. Authorisation came by email within minutes in 2024. In 2024 a crew without a tax number could not pay. In September 2024 a boat received a 460 euro bill after a coastguard check. The beaches are buoyed off, and dinghies can land on the rocky shore.

Ashore

From the small beach a path crosses Capo Testa. A restaurant stands just above the bay and can be reached by dinghy.
