Approach and anchoring

Approach from the Courreaux de Groix, then bear west past the Pointe des Saisies. The bay is shallow and dries in parts towards the shore, so sound in on a rising tide; there is room to swing with draught up to about 1.85 m. Sand and weed bottom, holding variable on the algae but good in clear sand. At low water the rocks to the SW and NE uncover and add some shelter. Keep clear of the oyster parks marked by wooden stakes.

Practical

No services on the beach. Ban-Gâvres harbour lies 0.8 nm north with a small pontoon and shops. Port-Louis, 1.4 nm north, offers fuel, water and a visitor pontoon in the Ban-Gâvres basin.

Ashore

Sandy beach of Kerletu runs along the anchorage. Coastal path GR34 passes above the dunes towards the Citadelle de Port-Louis, 2 km on foot. Bakery and small grocery in Ban-Gâvres village, 1 km from the beach.
