Approach and anchoring

Marineros meet boats at the harbour entrance and help them berth on two lazy lines; the lines are short and unballasted, so keep them clear of the propeller. The harbour is well protected but a little open to the north, and berths can be lively in a tramontane. The reception pontoon has only a couple of spaces. The fuel berth is open 24 hours with lines to hand and rubber strips along the quay, at road-station prices.

Practical

Rates are high in summer, around 74 euros for an 8-metre boat in July, with much lower mid-season and off-season prices; book by calling in the morning. The sanitary block is large, clean and close to the pontoons, with a laundry alongside, though the pontoon water is not drinkable. A one-hour electric-car loan is offered for the supermarket run about 1.5 kilometres off, and a baguette is left at the boat in the morning.

Ashore

The town is beside the port, with shops and restaurants, and there is a good restaurant at the yacht club above the office. A pebble beach lies next to the harbour, and the Cap de Creus park is within reach for walks.
