Approach and anchoring
The bay shelters well from south and south-east but lies open to the north-west, and the hills can funnel a strong easterly; a northerly swell works in at night. Holding is good in sand at 5 to 7 metres, though posidonia is patchy, so pick a clear sandy spot. A field of paying buoys now covers the best water, but anchoring clear of it is still allowed, and the attendant in the red dinghy will point out a berth.
Practical
The mooring buoys are run by Promar and are dear, around 65 euros for an 11 metre boat and 80 for 15 metres, rising year on year; they are lifted out of season. A fuel berth lies next to the anchorage. There are shops, bars and restaurants along the front, a Spar for stores and a market on Friday mornings.
