Approach and anchoring

Sand patches in 4 to 8 m lie among posidonia, pebbles and rocks. Large rocks at about 6 m can look like sand from the deck. The widest sand is in the middle of the bay at about 7 m. Stones near the shore hold poorly. Sheltered from the W and NW, with anchors holding on sand in 25 to 30 kn. An anchor dragged on mixed ground in a 36 kn westerly in September 2024.

Practical

No bar or restaurant ashore, and many large motor yachts anchor in the bay by day. Most leave before nightfall. The beach is pebbly, with stones just off it, so land the dinghy with care. No rope line closes the beach to dinghies. In strong wind, the beach half a mile further south has more sand for anchoring.

Ashore

A salt pond lies behind the beach at the head of the bay, with green hills around. Naturists use a small beach on the east side. A walk from the beach leads over to the neighbouring bay.
