Guide
Approach and anchoring
Sand and rock bottom; anchoring is confined to two small areas marked by yellow buoys, with both anchor and boat required to stay inside, and the reserve wardens and gendarmerie enforce this with morning and evening checks. Each zone holds only three or four boats, so arrive early. Charts here are unreliable, with rocks and shoals not shown and some awash, so approach on sight and drop on a clear sand patch. Sheltered from NW, W, SW and S, exposed to the east and to the Bouches de Bonifacio swell from the SE. Excursion ferries pass close through the anchorage at speed, their wash keeping it rough by day, calming in the evening.
Practical
No services. Nearest marinas at Port de Sant'Amanza to the north and Port de Bonifacio to the north-west. Mooring sits within the Natura 2000 zone of the Bouches de Bonifacio, anchoring on posidonia is prohibited.
