Anchorage off Cala di Battistone, near Golfo Aranci in north-east Sardinia. Sand bottom, sheltered from SE through W by the south, exposed to the northern quarter.

Approach and anchoring

Anchor on sand patches in 6 to 9 m between posidonia, rocks and weed. Holding is good once on sand. Large pipes about 30 cm across lie on the eastern part of the bottom, not always resting on it, and can foul an anchor. Keep clear of the tour-boat piers. The buoys in the bay were for RIBs only in 2025. Swell from the N and NE can roll into the bay. Speedboat wash stirs it during the day.

Practical

The bathing area is closed to motor dinghies, so tenders row in from the buoys with the engine off. Hotel and beach staff turned dinghies away from the beach in 2025 and 2026. A beach attendant was on duty until 20:00 in July 2025. Small piers on the east and west sides took dinghies in 2021. The eastern one has enough depth, the western one very little. The hotel pontoon was private and unusable in 2025.

Ashore

A large supermarket and smaller shops are about 10 minutes on foot. Restaurants and bars sit in the hotel complexes round the bay, with music until around midnight. Phi Beach is a 15-minute walk, with the Foodie pizzeria on the way.
