Approach and anchoring

Anchoring is prohibited here to protect the Posidonia meadows, and taking a line ashore is forbidden too; the only authorised anchorage lies further south, and wardens patrol and move boats on. Shallow rocks near 1.4 m and heads that break the surface make the approach dangerous for a keelboat, so close in only in flat calm. The Lavezzi sit in the Bouches de Bonifacio, a busy strait with strong east-west currents and sudden wind shifts. Sant'Amanza lies 3.8 NM NW, Bonifacio 4.9 NM NW as refuges.

Practical

No services on the islands. Day visits only; the archipelago is uninhabited and part of the Réserve naturelle des Bouches de Bonifacio managed by the Office de l'Environnement de la Corse.
