Cove anchorage below the cliffs of Capraia, in the Tuscan Archipelago. Sand patches among posidonia, sheltered from the north-west through east and open to the south and west.

Approach and anchoring
Anchor on sand patches among posidonia in 7 to 12 m. Holding varies from medium to good. Towards the beach the bottom turns to rock. The grey sand is hard to see on a cloudy day. Lines ashore are possible. In July 2025 the cove gave shelter in a northerly gale that drove boats from the anchorage off Capraia town. Swell and ship wash can make it rolly in calm weather.
Practical
Up to 30 boats can fill the cove by day. In August 2025 it had emptied by about 17:00. The landing is a tiny rocky beach, and reaching the land above is a climb. Mobile signal was weak in 2022. Jellyfish filled the cove on some days in 2022.
