Narrow cove on the island of Caprera, inside the La Maddalena reserve off Sardinia. Sand and weed bottom, sheltered from the western sector and exposed to the east.

Approach and anchoring

Room for three or four boats. The cove is narrow, so lie to a bow anchor and a stern anchor. A park warden objected to lines ashore in 2024. The middle is sand in about 4.5 m, with rock on the sides. A rock lies less than 1 m down south of the entrance. In a westerly, strong gusts can come down into the cove. Day boats fill it, so arrive before 10 am.

Practical

A patrol checked the reserve entrance fee one morning in 2019. Wasps come aboard at breakfast and lunch in summer. In 2024 they were gone by evening.

Ashore

A path climbs from the beach up the hill to an abandoned fort. Another route reaches the highest point of Caprera and returns to the cove down a rough ravine path. Wild goats visit the cove.
