Guide

Approach and anchoring

Shallow approach up the Aude river mouth, suitable for very shallow-draught craft only, around 0.5 m. The pass between the two breakwaters that leads to Port Chichoulet shoals badly, with a sandbank carrying about 0.8 m in the middle; the usable water runs along the east breakwater some 10 metres off the rocks. Watch for Aude floods and tide combining. Port Chichoulet lies 0.2 NM east and Valras-Plage 3.5 NM to the northeast for deeper-draught alternatives.

Practical

Three berths alongside the quays of the fishermen's cabins hamlet. A crane and a boatyard operate on site, with lift-outs Wednesday to Sunday, details at the capitainerie; there is a dry storage area. Water at the jetty has been off at times and depth alongside is only about 1.1 metres. Basic shops and restaurants in the hamlet of Les Cabanes de Fleury.
