Rocky-bottom anchorage on the Côte Bleue west of Marseille, between Carro and Port des Laurons.
Guide
Approach and anchoring
Approach from the south along the Côte Bleue. The bottom is rock and shingle, holding is awkward and the anchor may take several attempts to bite. Swell tends to work in, and one crew reported pollution in the anse. Shelter from N, NE and E. Full exposure to the mistral from W to NW, clear out early if it is forecast.
Practical
No facilities on site. Carro, 0.7 nm SE, has a small fishing harbour, water on the quay and a handful of shops. Port des Laurons is 1.1 nm N.
Ashore
The Sentier du Littoral runs along the coast between Carro and La Couronne, about 4 km of marked path on limestone cliffs. Carro fish market takes place daily on the quay when the boats come in.
