Lakes Annecy and Bourget: the harbours

15 places · Lakes Annecy and Bourget

Lake Annecy is 14.6 km long and its harbours count their berths: 380 at Sévrier, 342 at Saint-Jorioz, 271 at Les Marquisats and 100 at Doussard. Kitesurfing is allowed only off Saint-Jorioz, and the Roc de Chère reserve drops into the water in cliffs of 50 to 70 metres. Lac du Bourget, 44.5 km² and 145 metres deep, is the largest natural glacial lake in France: 1,500 berths at Aix-les-Bains, Hautecombe abbey opposite, the Savières canal to the Rhône at the north end. In the late afternoon the Traverse wind drops off the Mont du Chat and can hit the southern shore hard.
