Approach and anchoring

Channel Islands Harbor entrance lies between two jetties and an offshore breakwater. The southeast approach is preferred. Flashing green and flashing red lights mark the entrance, with a horn on the red. Harbor Patrol on VHF 12 for routine traffic and VHF 16 for emergencies. The area south-east of the entrance shoals quickly, so caution at night.

Practical

Berths from 6 to 18 m, lockable dock boxes, kayak racks, parking. No fuel berth, no pump-out on site, both available elsewhere in the harbour. No liveaboards. Haul-out and yard services through Seaside Boatyard, also in the harbour.

Ashore

Channel Islands Harbor shops, restaurants and kayak rentals within walking distance. Hollywood Beach 600 m west across the peninsula. Channel Islands Maritime Museum 1 mile south.
