Approach and anchoring
Reach the marina from the Gulf of Mexico through the Hernando Beach channel, then up the canal system. Shallow depths and narrow turns: favour high water on a rising tide. The Weeki Wachee River itself is closed to motors over 25 hp upstream of the spring run.
Practical
Fuel on site. Kayak and paddleboard hire from the docks. Limited transient dockage. Hernando Beach public ramp 4 lanes is 1 km away on Calienta Drive for trailer launching.
Ashore
Manatee viewing on the Weeki Wachee River from December to February, mainly at Hospital Hole. Bayport Park boat ramp and fishing pier at 8 km. Weeki Wachee Springs State Park, with its mermaid show running since 1947, at 11 km.
