Approach and anchoring

Reached from the Gulf through the Bayport channel and up the Weeki Wachee River. Coastal water here runs only 2 to 3 metres deep, so a shallow draught boat is needed and timing the tide helps. The river is no-wake near the marina.

Practical

Outboard repair yard servicing Suzuki and Yamaha two and four stroke engines, plus boat rentals. Address 7412 Shoal Line Blvd. Weeki Wachee Marina lies 0.8 nm to the south-west.

Ashore

Bayport Park, at the river mouth, has a public boat ramp and fishing pier. The Weeki Wachee River upstream is a spring-fed run used for kayaking and tubing.
