Full-service marina on the Gulf of Mexico at Hudson Beach, on Florida's Nature Coast north of Tampa.
Guide
Approach and anchoring
The Hudson channel runs about 2 miles offshore from the beach. Water is shallow here, gaining roughly 2 feet per mile out to sea, so the buoyed channel must be held. Rocks lie where some canals meet the Gulf, a hazard at low water. Allow about five minutes at idle speed to reach open water before getting on the plane.
Practical
Wet and dry storage, marine service and repair shop, ship's store, boat rentals and fishing charters. Get Hooked restaurant on site for seafood. Open daily 8.00 to 17.00. Harbour office on 727 869 1840.
Ashore
The flats off Port Hudson hold snook, redfish and sea trout, a draw for inshore anglers. Hudson Beach with its waterfront restaurants sits a short walk south of the marina.
