Approach and anchoring
Reached from Puget Sound through the Ballard Locks and the Ship Canal, then south into Lake Union. Fresh water, no tide. Site at the corner of Fairview Avenue East and East Hamlin Street.
Practical
10 berths, mostly long-term with a waiting list. Each berth has 200 amp shore power, telephone, internet, TV, fresh water, sewage pump-out and wash-water treatment. On-site guest quarters and gym for owners and crew.
History
The waterfront was the support yard for the Alaska salmon operations of the Wards Cove Packing Company until the firm left the salmon industry in 2002. The current marina, floating homes and townhouses were built on the cleared industrial site.
