Approach and anchoring

The Wando is one of the three rivers that form Charleston Harbour, alongside the Ashley and the Cooper. The lower river carries deep water and commercial container traffic to the port terminal, so keep clear of the shipping channel. The bottom is mud, sheltered from northeast through east to southeast.

Practical

No facilities at the anchorage. Wando River Marina lies 2.7 miles north and Daniel Island Marina 4.7 miles west, both reachable for fuel and provisions.
