Anchorage in Tybee Cut, a creek branching north off the Wilmington River near its mouth at Wassaw Sound, Georgia.
Guide
Approach and anchoring
Tybee Cut opens to the north of the Wilmington River close to Cabbage Island, where the river empties into Wassaw Sound. The Wilmington River gives a deep, well-marked route from the Atlantic up to the Intracoastal Waterway near Mile 585.
Practical
Mud bottom with good holding, sheltered from all quarters within the creek. Tidal current runs strongly through the cut, so allow ample swinging room. Landings Harbor Marina lies 1.3 miles west; Young's Marina is 3.4 miles north.
