Approach and anchoring
Approach from the north, leaving the Île Tomé to starboard. Around 25 seasonal buoys in the bay, sand bottom. Exposed from SE to SW, untenable in northerly swell. VHF 9.
Practical
Buoys laid by the Perros-Guirec SNSM and town services in season. No pontoon access. Shore landing by tender on the beach. Perros-Guirec harbour 1.1 NM SE for fuel, water and berths afloat.
Ashore
Trestraou beach fronts the mooring with lifeguards in July and August. Start of the Sentier des Douaniers GR34 to Ploumanac'h, about 4 km along the pink granite coastline to the Château de Costaérès and the Mean Ruz lighthouse. Casino, thalassotherapy centre and shops on the seafront.
History
Perros-Guirec developed as a seaside resort from the 1880s, with the first villas on Trestraou built after the arrival of the tramway from Lannion in 1906.
