Approach and anchoring
Estuary of the Jaudy entered between La Corne lighthouse and Pointe du Château. Well marked channel with lateral buoys and leading lights, but strong tidal streams on the ebb in the narrower stretches. Maximum draught 3 metres at the pontoons, harbour office on VHF 9. Recommend entry on a rising tide for a first visit.
Practical
Diesel fuel berth at the marina, water and electricity on the pontoons, sanitary block with showers and laundry. Crane and boatyard. Bakery, butcher, fishmonger and Carrefour City within 400 metres of the port. Weekly market on Wednesday morning on Place du Martray.
Ashore
Cathédrale Saint-Tudwal dominates the old town 300 metres from the port, built between the 13th and 15th centuries, with a triforium and granite cloister. Maison natale d'Ernest Renan on Place du Martray, now a museum. Sentier des douaniers GR 34 accessible from the port via the Jaudy towpath.
History
Tréguier is one of the seven founding bishoprics of Brittany, attributed to the Welsh monk Tudwal in the 6th century. The town is the birthplace of Ernest Renan, born in 1823, whose statue on Place du Martray sparked lasting controversy with the Church after it was unveiled in 1903.
