Approach and anchoring
Reached through the Sturgeon Bay Ship Canal from Lake Michigan, or down the bay from Green Bay. Call the harbour on VHF channel 9. Allow for the Michigan Street bridge opening schedule when timing arrival.
Practical
Seasonal and transient berths for vessels up to 100 feet. There is a fuel berth, a service department, showers, laundry and an outdoor picnic area with grills. Wifi is free.
History
Sturgeon Bay has built ships since the 1860s. The completion of the ship canal in 1882 linked Lake Michigan directly to Green Bay. The Door County Maritime Museum, founded in 1969, stands on the working waterfront nearby.
