Approach and anchoring

Reached along the dredged Sturgeon Bay waterway between Lake Michigan and Green Bay, with no tidal range. The yard sits on about 4 acres of waterfront with over 800 feet of dock wall, sheltered by the town shoreline.

Practical

Boatyard with a 70-ton travel lift and six shops covering woodworking, metal fabrication, electrical, engine work, rigging and fibreglass. It offers refit, refinishing and dockside service, plus winter and summer storage.

History

The yard was built on a former Door County shipyard. In 2013 the operator absorbed Great Lakes Yacht Services, becoming the largest service yard in north-east Wisconsin.
