Approach and anchoring
Access via the canalised Moselle, part of the large gauge waterway linking France to the Rhine. No tide. Lock operation by VNF. Commercial barge traffic shares the river, keep to starboard on the approach.
Practical
Sixty berths in the basin. Port de plaisance de Metz lies 6.9 NM south, a larger facility for reprovisioning or wintering.
Ashore
Talange town centre within walking distance from the port for shops and basic supplies. Metz old town 20 km south by road, with the Gothic cathedral Saint-Étienne and Centre Pompidou-Metz as cultural anchors.
