Approach and anchoring
Small craft anchor off the yacht club and southward, or south-east of Rhode Island Rocks, in depths of around 5 to 7 feet on mud. The outer anchorage is open to southerly and south-westerly winds. A 6 mph speed limit applies inside the harbour.
Practical
Stamford Yacht Club lies 0.5 nm north-east and Freedom Boat Club 0.7 nm north. The East and West Branches hold further marina facilities for small craft. The harbour master is reached through the Stamford Police Department.
Ashore
Downtown Stamford, with shops, restaurants and rail links to New York, sits a short way inland. Cummings Park and its beach front the eastern side of the harbour.
