Approach and anchoring
Reached from the river mouth at Saybrook breakwater, then about 3 miles up the buoyed channel past Saybrook Point. The marina lies on the west bank just upstream of the Amtrak swing bridge. Dockside depth is around 6ft.
Practical
About 100 berths on floating docks, taking vessels up to 100ft, with fresh water and shore power. Hauling is done with a 35-ton travel lift and a 15-ton forklift, alongside seasonal slips, rack storage and winter storage.
History
The Shore Line Electric Railway powerhouse stands over the marina, a reinforced concrete building topped with a red and white smokestack. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
