Guide
Approach and anchoring
South Lake connects to the Atlantic Intracoastal Waterway by an inlet off Hollywood Boulevard. It is deeper than neighbouring North Lake and takes larger boats. The lake is enclosed and well sheltered on all sides; holding is in sand. South Lake is a designated wake zone, so reduced speed applies.
Practical
The lake has long been used as an anchorage, and the city has planned a mooring field with about eight berths here. Loggerhead Marina Hollywood and Hollywood Marina, both with fuel and services, lie 0.4 nm away. Shops and restaurants are within walking distance of Hollywood Boulevard.
