Guide
Approach and anchoring
Smith Cove forms the inner, northern part of Elliott Bay, north of a line running from the west end of Elliott Bay Marina to Myrtle Edwards Park. The Port of Seattle's Piers 90 and 91 stand within the cove, so watch for commercial and cruise-ship traffic. Canal Marina and Nickerson Marina lie about 1.9 miles to the north-east toward the ship canal.
Practical
Elliott Bay Marina occupies the cove, with about 1,200 berths for vessels up to 300 feet and facilities for short and long stays.
Ashore
Smith Cove Park sits on the shore of the cove, and the Myrtle Edwards Park waterfront path runs south-east along Elliott Bay toward the Seattle city centre.
History
The cove was named after Dr Henry A. Smith, who settled here in 1853 among the first European settlers of the Seattle area. Terminal 91 has served over the years for car and fish storage, and more recently as a berth for Alaska cruise ships.
