Guide
Approach and anchoring
The marina sits behind a breakwater of about 1200 metres on the open shore of Puget Sound. The Hiram Chittenden Locks lie just to the south, giving access to Salmon Bay, Lake Union and Lake Washington in fresh water. Staff are on site around the clock.
Practical
More than 1400 berths take vessels from small boats to yachts of up to 75 metres, with about 800 metres of guest moorage. Shore power runs up to 200 amps. There is an independent fuel dock and boatyard, free pump-out, heads, showers and a self-service laundry.
Ashore
A waterfront promenade of about 1.6 km runs the length of the marina, passing Leif Erikson Plaza and its statue of the Norse explorer. The bars and restaurants of central Ballard are a short distance inland.
