Approach and anchoring
Approach from the south, clear of the Lion de Mer and Lion de Terre rocks off Saint-Raphaël. Entrance between two jetties with red and green lights. Exposed to easterly swell when the levante blows. VHF 9. Maximum draught 4 m at the deepest berths.
Practical
1500 berths with water and electricity at pontoons. Fuel station on site. Capitainerie staffed year-round. Shops, bakeries and restaurants around the port basin. Saint-Raphaël TGV station at 1.5 km gives direct access to Paris and Marseille.
Ashore
Sentier du littoral east from the marina towards Boulouris and Agay, cutting through the red porphyry of the Esterel. Plage du Veillat sand beach at 1.2 km west. Musée archéologique of Saint-Raphaël at 1.3 km, with amphorae from local Roman wrecks.
History
Santa Lucia was built in the 1980s to extend the pleasure capacity of Saint-Raphaël beyond the old fishing harbour. The town itself grew as a seaside resort after the railway reached the coast in 1863, attracting Gounod, Maupassant and Alphonse Karr.
